Odia  New  Year  Day. THE MAHA BISHUBA SANKRANTI which falls on April 14-15 is the beginning of the Odia Year in Odisha. Chinta O Chetana Celebrates the Odia New Year day Celebration for a Week from 15th    to 21th  April in the State Capital, Bhubaneswar styled as National baishakhi festivalFor  last 29 years in association with the Song & Drama Division, Ministry of I&B, Culture, EZCC, Govt Of  India, Department of Culture, Tourism and Panchayati Raj etc., of the state Government. Many other bodies of Govt. of india, state Govts., Corporate  institutions & Non-Government-Bodies and other Cultural institution also actively participate. The State administration, Odisha Police and Central Reserve Police  Force  actively  assist  in this  celebration.

NATIONAL  BAISHAKHI  FESTIVAL  is included in the “FESTIVAL  CALENDER  OF  GOVT.  OF  INDIA” For  its  qualitative  & popularity  in the country  and abroad. For  last 20  years all most all the States  are participating  in  this  prestigious  festival  with  their  Cultural  Troupes.

The festival  has  became  a National  Platform  to spread  and  strengthen  the message  of National Integration  &  Communal  Harmony  through  the  beautiful  Rainbow  of  Indian  Culture  specially With  the  holy pahandi  of  Lord  jagannath  with  Puri  Car  Festival style.  Artists,  Writers,  Educationist, Statesman,  Social  Activists,  Scientists,  Media -  Persons  ,  Defence Personnel, Sports Personnel,  Social Reformers  etc.,  like  to  attend  this  National  events.  Chinta O Chetana    takes- This  opportunity  to  confer  NATIONAL  AWARDS  in  recognition  of  talent   in different   fields  and   honours  legendary   achievers   in   various   fields.   National   Baishakhi  Festival  which  people  eagerly  look  to  once  in year  has  become  a  household  name  in Odisha.
